Sgt Goodwin said: "Business burglary in Higham, Rushden and Irthlingborough has been identified as local policing priority for the neighbourhood team to help tackle the issue.

"One of the things which has been identified is that offenders have been targeting businesses which do not have shutters and are therefore more vulnerable.

"The team are also in the process of setting up a Business Watch whereby it gets the businesses talking to each other and sharing information to prevent them from being a target."

Higham Ferrers Town Council recently tweeted about the spate of burglaries and urged people to report it if they had any information.
