300 hens rescued by Northamptonshire animal charity with new homes now needed

Animals In Need has rescued 300 retired barn hens from Wales and is now looking for new homes for them.

The charity in Little Irchester, near Wellingborough, would love to hear from anyone who could rehome one or more of their new feathered friends.

Sanctuary manager Annie Marriott told the Northants Telegraph: “Yesterday Emma and I went to Wales and rescued 300 hens.

"These ladies are retired barn hens, only 16-months-old and they have all been parasite treated upon arrival.

"The adoption fee is £5 per hen.

"Please could people email me pictures of their hen palaces and which vet the hens will be registered with if they would like to be considered.”
