Animals In Need in Little Irchester is currently looking after 65 dogs, which is the maximum it can look after.

So the charity is appealing for anyone who is thinking about getting a new pet to get in touch to see if they have the right dog for them.

It is also having a dog re-homing event on Saturday to try and find new homes for as many of the animals as possible.

Annie Marriott from the charity said: “We currently have 65 dogs in our care, which is the maximum we can house.

“Each dog that passes through our gates deserves a better future.

“Many have had bad experiences and yet are still prepared to be loyal companions.

“If you can prove a level of commitment and understanding, you could be the special someone they are waiting for.”

Annie said all the dogs are neutered, vaccinated and chipped as well as treated for worms and fleas.

Any dogs which are re-homed through the charity leave with a voucher for a free training session with Nathan Watson and four weeks’ free insurance.

The dog re-homing day is taking place from midday to 3pm on Saturday (February 27) at Pine Tree Farm in London Road, Little Irchester.

Annie added: “Why not pay us a visit, chat with the dedicated dog re-homing team and meet some of the lovely dogs that have found their way into our care.

“Every dog deserves the chance of a happy ending.”
