Kettering Rugby Football Club have linked up with local business The Bennie Group in an innovative link between the world of sport and work.

A family business, The Bennie Group which employs 200 people across multiple businesses and a variety of different industries in the county, has now joined forces with Kettering RFC’s youth teams for U16, U17 and Colts.

Unusually for many club sponsors, The Bennie Group will hold a special event offering the young players potential career opportunities.

At an evening at the club on Tuesday February 23, 20-30 Kettering RFC’s young people, with their parents will attend a special careers event,

when skills learned on the pitch could give them hand into the world of work.

With a number of Bennie’s senior directors people who started as juniors, now holding top posts in the Bennie Group, the company are keen to help the players start their careers.

They are a company that values people and they are proud that the evening is being billed as Life Work Choices using the values of Rugby- discipline, respect and teamwork transferred to the world of work.

The Bennie Group will be explaining their various companies and the opportunities that exist for the right people.

A club spokesman said: “We regard this as an innovative scheme and believe that it shows our determination to help our young people not only to keep fit and healthy but that we are also trying to help them into the world of work.”

Players will also get to rub shoulders with one of their Rugby heroes when a current Saints 1st XV player makes a special guest appearance.
