Kettering man who vandalised McDonald's is jailed - for committing same offence two days after walking free

Joseph Rush, 35, was given a suspended sentence after smashing windows and stealing a cappuccino from the High Street store in September.

He told magistrates that staff were “controlling” him and that he had a vendetta against the outlet.

On that occasion chairman of the bench Jackie Shore giving him one last chance.

But a day after leaving court he stole two bottles of vodka from B&M in Kettering.

Then, the following day, he went back to McDonald’s and damaged a window, breaking his restraining order in the process.

Rush, of Yarwell Court, Highfield Crescent, was given six weeks in prison for breaking the window, six weeks consecutively for breaking his restraining order and one week consecutive for the vodka theft.

This also activated his suspended sentence, meaning he will now spend 31 weeks in prison.

He was also ordered to pay £213.99 in compensation, a victim surcharge of £115 and costs of £85.
