A shopping area full of independent traders in Kettering has celebrated its third birthday.
The Yards in Market Street reached the milestone on Wednesday, October 10.
The quirky shopping district has proved a huge success with several traders expanding and moving out to bigger units, which was The Yards’ aim.
Director Michaela Jones said: “We always said that if we got to the three year point we’d be happy.
“It’s been a huge success so far.”
Traders who started at The Yards and have since expanded include The Bottle Mix, who moved to a larger unit opposite, and Randalls, who moved to part of a unit in High Street.
Currently at The Yards are eight traders outside, 20 inside and six offices.
Michaela urged anyone who’s not been yet to go and see what they’re about.
She said: “Places like this need word of mouth and marketing from the people of Kettering more than anywhere.
“There really is something for everyone.”
Managers at The Yards have recently taken advantage of some businesses moving out and have re-configured the whole shop floor.
The Yards will be celebrating the milestone with a public event on Saturday, October 20.
All of the shops are involved with various discounts and live entertainers.
The shopping area is also hosting a Halloween Week from October 23 to October 27 with a trick or treat with free sweets for kids who bring a basket, party games, storytelling, craft workshops and a bat hunt.
Saturday, October 27, with also see a Halloween alternative shopping event.
A fancy dress competition will be on all week with the winner crowned on Saturday.
