“All the children had so much fun.

“We were privileged to receive funding for this event from Wellingborough Council so the activities and entrance was free.

“There were family races, face painting and body art, henna tattoos, craft activities, a bouncy castle, obstacle course, reptiles for everyone to touch and beat the goalie.

“Children could also go inside the police van and fire engine.”

Refreshments including a barbecue were available during the day, as well as donkey rides for a small charge.

Graham added: “We can’t thank all the volunteers enough who gave up their time to help out.

“The day wouldn’t be possible without their help.

“Whippy Ices from Wellingborough gave them all free ice-cream as recognition of their hard work.

“Overall it was so nice to see so many children so happy and saying they can’t wait until the next one.

“Gary Johnson from GLJ theatre at Glamis Hall did an excellent job of organising the day, all ahead of taking his theatre group to The Edinburgh Fringe.”

A preview of Gary’s show, Plain As Paper, was due to be given at Glamis Hall on Tuesday.

And various events will be on offer for children aged seven to 15 at the hall as part of its Summer Madness scheme, including Zumba on August 22, the cooking club on August 25 and football club on August 26.
