Heavy traffic in Kettering as mourners gather for Traveller funeral

Traffic is slow in the London Road area of Kettering this morning (Monday) because of a Traveller funeral.

About 150 people are gathered outside St Edward's Roman Catholic Church by the junction with St Mary's Road.

There is heavy traffic along London Road with a procession expected to make its way through the town this morning.

Horses and carriages with Irish flags will lead mourners along Bowling Green Road and down Northampton Road on their journey to the crematorium in Kettering.

Police and traffic officers are at the scene.
