Geddington reign triumphant in annual Boxing Day Squirt

Geddington Volunteer Fire Brigade (GVFB) now have two wins in a row after winning this year's Boxing Day Squirt.

The Boxing Day Squirt is an annual tradition that sees Geddington's volunteers take on other Northamptonshire firefighters in a water fight over the ford.

The teams, stood on either side of the ford, battle to squirt a suspended barrel suspended over the heads of their opponents.

The battle is best of five and GVBF won 3-2 against firefighters from Kettering, Burton Latimer, Irthlingborough, Mere Way in Northampton and fire cadets.

GVBF won 5-0 last year.

One onlooker said it was a very wet affair, but the rain didn't dampen the Boxing Day Spirit.
