Emergency services were called to a train fire in Kettering last night (Thursday, May 14).

The freight train was carrying stones and was just south of Kettering station when overheated brakes caused it to catch fire.

Northants Fire was called to Pytchley Road at 10.05pm and police attended to control traffic while the fire was put out.

No one was hurt and the train went safely on its way later that evening.
