Free fun for all the family at Raunds' first mayor's show
There will be numerous attractions at the free event taking place on Sunday, May 1, at The Rec in Raunds.
Raunds mayor Cllr Helen Howell said: “I’m thrilled to be launching what I hope will become an annual event for the town.

Hide Ad“We’ve packed the show with some fantastic acts which everyone can enjoy.”
Attractions already confirmed include falconry displays, live music, children’s rides, a bar and food court, petting zoo, archery and kickboxing displays as well as craft stalls, inflatables and a Punch and Judy show.
Cllr Howell added: “We know from our community plan, the Vision For Raunds, that local people wanted to see more events going on in the town, but we also understand how expensive these can be for families to attend.
“That’s why it was so important to me that entrance to the event was free.”

Hide AdWhile there are small charges for some attractions, the event will also be raising money for the Fire Fighters charity with all proceeds from the show going to the charity.
Local firefighters and cadets will be at the show and will be providing a drill display.
Children can join in with sack races egg and spoon races, while adults are invited to get a tug of war team together.
In addition to the arena attractions, the mayor is looking for entries in the Great Raunds Cake-Off and the Bloomin’ Marvellous Flower Arrangement competitions.

Hide AdThe Great Raunds Cake-off is split into two age groups with a junior and adult category.
Budding bakers can enter with any cake of any flavour and size.
Anyone who is green-fingered can have a go in the Bloomin’ Marvellous Flower arrangement competition.
Prizes on offer include tea for two at Beckworth Emporium and a family ticket to a Santa Pod Event.

Hide AdThe Raunds Mayor’s Show kicks off at midday on Sunday, May 1, and the show runs until 6pm at Bassfords recreation ground in Marshalls Road, Raunds.
