Prologis has agreed a pre-let with Yusen Logistics for a distribution centre at the Prologis Park Wellingborough West site.

It will be the first unit built at the site, a 110-acre development with planning permission for a total of 2.15 million square feet next to the Park Farm industrial estate.

Kevin Appleton, managing director at Yusen Logistics (UK) Ltd, said: “Yusen has operated from Wellingborough for many years and the town has proved to be an ideal location for our business.

“We are expanding to meet growing customer demand so we are delighted we have secured a new building at Prologis Park Wellingborough West.”

Infrastructure work started on the site, which Prologis has said could create up to 2,500 jobs, earlier this year.

Construction of the new building will start in the spring and is expected to be completed in early 2018.
