The Choir of St Mary’s The Virgin in Finedon was invited to sing at the cathedral earlier this month.
Musical director Jonathan Harris said it was a great experience, and added: “We were invited to go and sing at Canterbury Cathedral at evensong.
“We were there as the visiting choir.
“There were over 150 people in the congregation.
“It’s a big place and we did our usual choral evensong.
“It’s the first time any choir from St Mary’s has been.
“There were 25 people that sang at Canterbury Cathedral, including six children ranging from age 10 to 18.”
Mr Harris said they put themselves forward for the chance to sing there.
He added: “We have got some connections there and we received a warm welcome.
“The choir did very well.
“A coachload of people from church went, there was about 60 people on the day.”
The music included Philip Moore’s Third Service, James Macmillan’s Give me Justice and Ayleward’s responses.
Mr Harris said they had been invited back to perform at some point in the future and he said they would love to return.
