When all nine tips across Northamptonshire will be open during Christmas 2020, New Year and Bank Holidays

The festive season is great for many things, but it can produce more rubbish than any other time of the year.

From food packaging, to wrapping paper and toy boxes, Christmas often leaves recycling bins overflowing across the county.

So it is useful that Northamptonshire’s nine tips are open intermittently during the festive period and New Year, however the county council’s warning that centres are extremely busy is still in place.

The council is asking visitors to consider if the trip is necessary and is also still warning that centres may have to close temporarily during the day to disperse traffic.

For the most part, the recycling centres are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and their usual closure days.

And if they are open on Christmas Eve, the tips will close early at 2pm.
