Thrapston cable fault left 1,600 homes without power

Almost 1,600 homes were left in the dark after a cable fault in Thrapston.

Whilst most people were sleeping, Western Power Distribution were working to fix the problem after the power cut at 1.55am this morning.

In total 1,594 NN14 homes were affected including in Thrapston's Tyler Way and Kingfisher Road as well as nearby villages including Denford and Ringstead.

Power to almost 90 per cent of homes was restored within an hour and remaining affected houses were restored in sections.

The last four homes finally had power at 3.55am.
