More than a dozen bags of litter have been cleared from the streets of Kettering thanks to the efforts of a six-year-old boy and his dad.

Oscar Baker has been helping his dad Hayden Boddington, 33, pick litter on their walks around Kettering Leisure Village.

In the first two weeks of January the pair collected 14 full bags of litter, picking up old cans, food packets and bottles.

Hayden, who works in a tyre garage, said: "I take him out quite regularly and got him a little stick for it.

"He likes finding things like cans and bits of metal - he always says it's from the olden days."

Hayden has been litter-picking in his spare time for a few years and recently collected several bags of litter from the path from Kettering Conference Centre to Packer Road.

He added: "When you see it all left everywhere it doesn't look nice.

"You just want to go for a nice walk and there's all this litter - so we thought we would clear it."
