Council bin collection bosses have reassured Corby residents that their bin collection days will remain the same over the bank holiday.

Despite the change from the district to town and unitary councils that takes place tomorrow (Thursday, April 1) and the Easter break, the council refuse service will remain unaltered.

The joint service currently run by Corby and Kettering Councils will be transferred to the new North Northamptonshire Council (NNC).

A spokesman for Corby Council said: "Ahead of Easter, we are pleased to inform residents that there will be no changes to bin collections in Corby this bank holiday weekend - Friday, April 2 to Monday, April 5.

"From Thursday, April 1, all council services waste collections will be led by North Northamptonshire Council, however, residents can rest assured that this will run in the exact same way.

"Residents can contact North Northamptonshire Council from Thursday on 0300 126 3000, however, please note that the council will be closed on Friday, April 2 (Good Friday) and will re-open on Tuesday, April 6.
