Eyes to the skies! Huge flock of birds seen above Kettering

It is thought the birds are eating flying ants

Huge flocks of birds have been seen circling over Kettering today (Friday, July 24).

It is thought the phenomenon is linked to Flying Ant Day, the 24-hour period when millions of new queen ants leave their nests to mate and create new ant colonies.

It happens each year in July and it is thought the circling birds could be feasting on the flying ants.
