Emergency services on scene of 'serious' two-vehicle collision on A5 in Northamptonshire

Firefighters are rushing to the scene of a 'serious' two vehicle collision on the A5 South Weedon near Nether Heyford.

There is currently one fire crew from Daventry on the scene in addition to two fire officers, police, a land ambulance and an air ambulance.

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue service have warned drivers to "avoid the area, if possible".

The A5 has been closed in both directions between Weedon and Towcester. A spokesperson for the Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue service said that it will continue to be closed "for some time."

Northamptonshire Police and the East Midlands Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
