Domino's could open Burton Latimer store

A national pizza chain plans to open a branch in Burton Latimer.

Domino’s has applied to open a takeaway in the Churchill Way unit occupied by Latimer Cleaners.

If approved, the takeaway would be open between 11am and 11pm every day of the week.

It would create 20 full-time jobs and 10 part-time jobs.

The nearest Domino’s stores to Burton Latimer are currently in Kettering or Wellingborough, which has two outlets.

A planning statement said: “The application proposal will result in the beneficial reuse of a unit which is about to become vacant and is located in a prominent roadside location within the centre.

“The occupation of the unit by a national multiplier will have several benefits.

“It will create jobs in a sustainable centre location, close to other employment uses and various transport links.

“Furthermore, it will provide an additional service and facility to local residents and businesses, without compromising the retail function of the area.”

The plans say that the takeaway will open at the ‘earliest opportunity’ if planning permission is granted.

A decision is expected by November 20.
