Desborough farmer uses hairdryer to warm up lamb which was '˜close to death'
Farmer Ed Dee was checking on the lambs at West Lodge Rural Centre in Desborough at 4.30am over the weekend when he found one of them had fallen into it’s mum’s water bucket.
The lamb, which was only a day-and-a-half-old, was sodden and Ed described the youngster as close to death.

Hide AdEd told the Northants Telegraph: “The lamb had got into the bucket between midnight and 4am.
“I fished it out and tried to dry it.
“We put it under the heat lamp but that wasn’t working so we decided to give it a blow-dry.”
Ed spent more than 15 minutes using the hairdryer before he put the lamb in the plate warming section of the oven to finish warming the animal up.
After about 90 minutes, the lamb was warm again and has since been returned safe and well to its mum.

Hide AdEd said: “It went straight back to its mum, bleeted to her and then was feeding again.
“I checked on the lamb again yesterday and it was feeding and doing all the normal lamb things it should be doing.
“The mum was a first-time ewe and she’s a good mum.”
West Lodge is currently about half-way through the lambing season, with about 120 lambs born so far.
