A woman on a country walk in in Raunds was left needing medical treatment after a dog bit her on the leg.

Police officers are appealing for two dog walkers to contact them about the incident that took place in Meadow Lane.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "The incident took place between 10am and 10.35am on Wednesday, November 18, as the woman walked past a man and woman with two dogs on the country track.

"One of the dogs sniffed her leg and bit her causing three small puncture wounds, which required medical treatment.

"The dog walkers were a white man and woman, aged 40 to 50 years. The man was of a slim build and wearing a hat. The woman was of a medium build with short curly hair.

"Officers are appealing for the dog walkers or anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch."
