Woman assaulted at Northamptonshire nature reserve

A woman in her 20s has been assaulted in a field at a county beauty spot when she went to make a routine call on livestock at about 2.30pm on Saturday, November 7.

The woman was checking on pregnant sheep belonging to a local farmer in a field at the nature reserve off Sulehay Road, Yarwell.

She saw two dogs loose, chasing the livestock and causing them distress.

A spokeman for Northamptonshire Police said: "The woman challenged the owners and pointed out signage at the entrance of the field, which states all dogs must be kept on their leads.

"After a verbal argument, one of the dog owners pushed the woman out of his way, causing her to step back.

"The man is described as white and in his 50s, about 6ft and of a large build. He was bald and was wearing black glasses and knee supports on both legs."

Officers believe the incident may have been witnessed by a man, who was cycling in the nature reserve with two small children, and are appealing for him to get in touch.
