Wellingborough woman catches man trying to set her car on fire

A woman from Wellingborough disturbed by noise outside her home saw a man pouring something over her car.

Between 11pm and 11.30pm on Saturday, December 28, a woman heard a noise in Nightingale Lane, Wellingborough.

She looked out of her window and saw a man pouring something over her silver Honda Accord.

The woman went outside and saw that her car's rear quarter light window had been broken.

There was a strong smell of petrol inside and outside the car.

A number of plastic bottles set alight were next to the vehicle.

The offender is described as white and was wearing black work-overall clothing and a burgandy beanie hat.

Northamptonshire Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to call them on 101.
