UPDATE: A14 re-opens near Kettering

A stretch of the A14 has re-opened after a car caught fire.

Emergency services were at the scene between Junctions 7 and 6 westbound this lunchtime after the black Vauxhall Corsa caught fire in a lay-by.

A police spokesman said it was down to a mechanical fault and that nobody was in it at the time the blaze started.

The road soon re-opened.
