Unpaid work for Kettering man caught with large hunting knife

A Kettering man who was caught with a terrifying knife in public has been told he must complete 250 hours of unpaid work.

Ben Refeea, 23, was arrested after he was found with the large hunting knife in Havelock Street in the town on October 24 last year.

Police also found him in possession of a quantity of cannabis and he was taken into custody, where he was later charged with possessing a bladed article in public and possessing class B drugs.

Last month at Northampton Magistrates' Court last month Refeea, of Bath Road, admitted both charges and was sentenced to a community order.

Magistrates told him he would have to take part in rehabilitation activities and complete 250 hours of unpaid work.

Refeea must also pay costs of £85 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £95.
