A Kettering man has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after a pub assault which left his victim with a fractured cheekbone.

Luca Vellucci, 20, admitted the attack before magistrates last week over the incident, which took place on Boxing Day in 2019.

The victim, a 23-year-old man, was punched by Vellucci at The Earl of Dalkeith in Dalkeith Place, Kettering, at about 8pm.

He suffered a fractured cheekbone, police said.

Vellucci, of Swinburne Close, was arrested and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, which he pleaded guilty to.

Magistrates sentenced him to a community order with 180 hours of unpaid work.

Vellucci must pay compensation of £500 to his victim, court costs of £85 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £90.
