Two men were hospitalised after being beaten with a walking stick in their own homes.

The attacks took place between midday and 1pm on Monday (June 29) when a man entered two separate addresses in Allen Road and Thrapston Road.

A spokesman for Northants Police said both of the occupants were beaten with a walking stick and their attacker stole money before making off.

Both victims were taken to KGH and the spokesman added: "One of them sustained a fractured jaw and both sustained bruising.

"One of them remains in hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing."

Ian Courtney Moore, 47, of Thrapston Road, Finedon has been charged with robbery and GBH (Section 18) in connection with the offence.

He is due to appear at Northampton Magistrates Court today (Wednesday).
