Two deny drugs offences after Kettering stop and search

Two men have been remanded in custody after police found almost 100 wraps of class A drugs in Kettering.

Officers were near the Rockingham Road Pleasure Park at about 2.30pm on Monday (September 28) when they stopped a black VW Jetta.

They discovered 99 wraps of heroin, £650 in cash and a kitchen knife and arrested two men at the scene.

Omar Farooq, 27, of Cherrywood Road in Birmingham, was charged with possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and possession of a kitchen knife.

Kieran Sargeant, 31, of Mears Drive in Stechford, Birmingham, was charged with possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.

Both men appeared before magistrates in Northampton and pleaded not guilty to all charges.

They were remanded in custody and will next appear at Northampton Crown Court on October 28.
