Although the incident wasn’t reported to police, officers were made aware of the footage a short time later, and an investigation was quickly launched.

Now, two Corby boys, aged 16 and 17, have been arrested on suspicion of GBH in connection with the incident and are in police custody at this time.

Detective Sergeant Kieron Pearl, said: “This was a cowardly, unprovoked attack on a woman which has rightly shocked the community in Corby, and I want to reassure them that we are doing everything we can to conduct a robust investigation and bring the offenders to justice.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to ask people not to share any of the footage of the incident that may currently be circulating on social media as this may jeopardise any future criminal proceedings.”
