Officers have been focusing their efforts on the roads this Christmas with a hard-hitting drink drive campaign and ensuring that cars are roadworthy and that their owners are allowed to drive them.

This fancy green Ford Mustang - one of only two of this version in the UK - was seized by officers yesterday (Sunday, December 22) who believed that the owner’s driving licence had expired.

The Safer Roads Team also took away a total of eleven vehicles including this car transporter full of cars from the town last night after conducting an operation which led to 100 negative breath tests - people who blew below the legal alcohol limit - and 30 traffic offences spotted.

Speaking on Twitter, PC Dave Lee of the Safer Roads Team said: “As the evening draws in, another truck load of illegal cars on the roads are getting taken away from Corby. Eleven vehicle seizures in total, with nearly 100 negative breath tests conducted and 30 traffic offences dealt with.”

Northamptonshire Police are naming every driver caught drunk behind the wheel this festive period as part of a month-long campaign.
