A man was attacked by two men who attempted to rob him as he walked home from Corby town centre in the early hours of Friday morning.

The 23-year-old man was walking back from the town centre between 2am and 2.20am on Friday, July 3 when the incident happened.

He had walked along Jubilee Avenue before turning on to Gainsborough Road and crossed towards Spalding Road. When he cut across the grass, he was punched in the head from behind.

The man fell to the ground and two men assaulted him and demanded money. The victim was left with bruising on his face.

The first attacker was a white man in his mid-20s. He was wearing a dark blue or black Nike hooded top with the hood up, blue or black bottoms and a face mask.

The second attacker was a black man in his mid-20s wearing a dark hooded top with the hood up, dark bottoms and a face mask.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information should call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
