The Safer Roads Team were out on 40mph Steel Road this morning where they caught one motorist doing 56mph and eleven others going over the limit - with one seatbelt offence recorded.

On Rockingham Hill, which has a speed limit of 30mph, officers caught 13 speeders and 5 people wearing no seatbelt. One motorist was caught twice in 20 minutes going in each direction.

Then this afternoon in Lewin Road, Great Oakley, the team caught seven speeders and one person with an illegal numberplate.

Speaking about their final location on social media, the team said: “Low numbers (compared to 22 offences pre lockdown) is what we like to see, fewer cars on the road means people staying at home and those on essential journeys driving safe.”
