Thief empties money pots after breaking into Wellingborough house

Police are appealing for witnesses to a break-in at a house in Wellingborough.

Between 4am and 4.25am yesterday (Tuesday, April 28) the offender entered an address in Curtis Mews and emptied money pots containing pound coins before stealing a Cannondale SL4 pedal cycle from the rear garden.

A spokesman for Northants Police said: "Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have CCTV or dash cam footage of someone acting suspicious or riding a pedal cycle in the Curtis Mews area between the stated times.

"Residents are being encouraged to make sure all doors are locked and windows are closed at night to help protect their homes from opportunist burglars.

"Despite the Covid-19 restrictions, criminals are still operating."
