Teenagers plead not guilty to stabbing at Northampton town centre McDonald's

Three teenagers have pleaded not guilty to an attack in a Northampton McDonald's where another youth was stabbed.

Four co-defendants - none of which can be named because they are under the age of 18 - were arrested and charged with wounding with intent following the alleged attack on the Drapery on October 14.

At Northampton Crown Court today (November 18), three of the defendants entered not guilty pleas to all charges against them.

The three co-defendants each deny charges of violent disorder, wounding with intent and carrying a knife.

Two of them are 17 and from Northampton, while the third is 16 and from Northampton.

The fourth defendant, a 17-year-old boy from Corby, will enter his plea at a later date.

They are expected to stand trial on June 9 next year.

The three 17-year-old co-defendants were remanded into youth detention while the 16-year-old was released on bail under electronically monitored curfew.

At around 4.30pm on October 14, police were called to the town centre fast food restaurant after a violent fight broke out.

A 17-year-old victim of a knife attack sustained injuries which were "not life-changing or life-threatening".

This newspaper broke news of the incident after emergency services rushed to the the Drapery following a 999 call.

Armed officers were on the scene within four minutes of the call. Diners dashed out of the fast-food restaurant as the incident unfolded.
