The teenager was found to be carrying a ten-inch (26cm)-long blade that he tried to conceal down his trouser leg - he was also found to be wearing a stab-proof vest.

A 16-year-old boy, who can't be named for legal reasons, has since been charged in connection with the incident.

A tweet from the Central Tasking Team said: "It wasn't surprising tonight that the owner of this knife failed to get away with it concealed down his trouser leg in Corby.

"The worrying thing is he was also wearing a stab-proof vest. Another knife off the streets and young man in custody."
