A 15-year-old girl was punched several times by another girl in Corby.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault which took place in Cottingham Road between 3.15pm and 3.25pm on Monday, July 6.

The incident happened on the right hand side of the carriageway, between the junction of Beanfield Avenue heading towards Abington Road.

A spokesman for Northants Police said: "The teenager was approached by a group of six people, two boys and four girls.

"One of the girls then punched her several times.

"The suspect was white, aged 14 to 15, about 5ft 4in, with a medium build.

"She had light brown and black should-length hair and a slightly tanned complexion, and was wearing a black Puma hooded top and black jeans."

Officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault.
