Samantha Ann Jones, 40, targeted a woman through a series of attempts to contact her in offences which took place between March and December last year.

Jones, of Linden Avenue, appeared before magistrates to be sentenced last week after admitting a charge of stalking.

She admitted making phone calls to her victim and sending unwanted messages to her on social media, as well as being photographed parked outside her house.

And Jones also damaged her victim's car and contacted associates in an attempt to get hold of her number.

Magistrates in Northampton sentenced Jones, who appeared over a videolink, to 20 weeks in prison suspended for 18 months.

She will have to wear an electronic tag for six months to make sure she complies with an exclusion zone made against her by magistrates.

Jones will also have to take part in rehabilitation activities and will be subject to a five-year restraining order against her victim.

She must also pay prosecution costs of £85 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £128.
