'Suspect device' which saw part of Kettering taped off was discarded battery pack

A 'suspect device' spotted on top of a bin in Kettering yesterday (Sunday) turned out to be a discarded battery pack.
Police taped off an area around North Park as a precaution at about 11.30am after reports that the device had been found in Burghley Street.
The device was visibly on top of a bin and was examined - but thankfully it turned out to be a discarded battery pack which posed no danger.
The cordon was lifted early in the afternoon.
