The Chief Constable of Northamptonshire Police, Nick Adderley, pulled over a 27-year-old man in a Kia on the A43 at about 8am this morning (January 7) for not driving to the conditions of the road.

Mr Adderley, in a tweet this morning, likened the driver to Swedish rally driver, Stig Blomqvist saying that he opted to “practise his drifting skills in -3C conditions on a public road.”

Mr Adderley, condemning the driver publicly, said: “Our NHS are at breaking point and do not need additional work through stupidity. Please, if you have to drive, drive carefully and exercise extra caution.”

This is not the first time the Chief Constable has caught reckless drivers on the road. Mr Adderley, in 2019, caught a woman speeding at 122mph near the Queen Eleanor interchange after she passed his unmarked car. He was “shocked” to find a toddler in the back seat.
