Officers visited the skate park in Desborough at about lunchtime and found people using it despite it being closed as part of measures to stop the spread of Covid-19.

They spoke to those flouting the rules and advised them that they should not be using the skate park before sending them home.

Later this afternoon special constables visited the skate park in Rothwell, which is also closed.

They found two skateboarders and moved them on after giving them words of advice.

Special constable Ross Dykes said they were "clearly ignoring the signage".

So far more than 300 people have died from the virus in Northamptonshire.

The UK lockdown is set to be reviewed on May 7 after six weeks of restrictions.
