Black dye – representing oil – was spread around the reception area and over a Barclays logo on the wall of the Brackmills campus building highlighting what Extinction Rebellion claims is the banking giant gambling with the planet's future.

Luke Michael Adams, 24, 30-year-old Martyn Lyman and Daniel Shaw, 34, Linda Michelle Davidson, 50, and 55-year-old Dave Keir Lane — all from Northampton — plus 57 year-old Alan David Heath of Kettering are all due to appear at Northampton Magistrates Court charged with criminal damage to property valued under £5000.
