The driver can be heard whooping to loud music blaring from the car's dashboard as he travels in the outside line of an otherwise empty road.

PC Lee used the hashtag #DontStreamAndDrive as he tweeted: "As you drive today put your phone away and leave it there. Don’t be a #SnapchatIdiot like this or on any other social platform."

Using a mobile behind the wheel is one of the "Fatal Four" offences — alongside drink-driving, speeding and not wearing a seatbelt — which have been identified as contributing most to people being killed and seriously on the county's roads.

Latest published figures for 2019 revealed road deaths in Northamptonshire hit an eight-year high when 42 people were killed and a further 347 seriously injured.
