Rushden man ordered to pay compensation after sexual assault

A Rushden man who admitted sexual assault and two charges of assault by beating has been ordered to pay his victims compensation.

Brandon Potton, 20, pleaded guilty to four charges relating to an incident on October 27.

He admitted two counts of sexually assaulting a woman by touching her and further charges of assaulting a man by beating him and assaulting a woman by beating her.

Magistrates in Northampton told Potton, of Chestnut Close, he would have to pay £100 in compensation for each sexual assault charge.

He must also pay £150 to the man he assaulted and £100 to the woman he assaulted.

Court costs and a victim surcharge made his total bill £625.

Potton was also made the subject of a community order with 80 hours of unpaid work, which must be completed within a year.

He will also have to take part in rehabilitation requirements.
