Robber snatches 94-year-old woman's handbag in Higham Ferrers

A 94-year-old woman was robbed of her handbag when a man snatched it off her in Higham Ferrers on Thursday, November 21.

The man approached the woman at the junction of Linnetts Lane with Queensway between 10.30am and 11am.

The man forcefully pulled the handbag off the woman's wrist.

He ran away down Linnetts Lane towards the High Street.

A police spokesman said the woman had lost a bank card and an unspecified amount of cash.

The man is described as white with blond hair and in his early 20s.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery to come forward. Anyone who saw the incident or has information should call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
