Police are warning residents to be vigilant and to keep their properties secure after five attempted burglaries in the village of Irchester.

These happened in the early hours of Tuesday (November 3) when two men tried the doors of five different properties.

A spokesman for Northants Police said: "Three of these were in Arkwright Road and two in Roman Way.

"In addition, items were stolen from a car which was left unlocked."

Witnesses or anyone with information about the attempted burglaries can call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
