Relentless police take down another Kettering cannabis factory

"We will find it, and we will take it down."

That's the warning to drug dealers from Northamptonshire Police after officers disrupted yet another cannabis factory in the county today (Thursday).

A terraced house in Russell Street, Kettering, was the target after a community tip-off that class B drugs were being grown there.

And after smashing through the back door at about 10.30am they found 93 plants worth between £8,000 and £10,000.

Nobody was arrested at the scene but PC Rob Booth, from the Kettering neighbourhood police team, warned those feeding the town's cannabis habits that they would not get an easy ride.

He told the Northants Telegraph: "We will find it, and we will take it down.

"Today's raid came after some community intelligence came through to us and that is massive.

"If we get that information from the community we can go and act on it, take it down, get drugs off the streets and put criminals behind bars."

Those responsible for today's factory were growing the plants with a professional set-up, with drugs found in three bedrooms and a loft.

They had bypassed the electricity and bags at the rear of the property suggested they may have already had two or three harvests out of the plants.

The set-up will be dismantled and destroyed today and police will be making further enquiries about the property.

It's the latest raid as part of relentless police work to disrupt drug dealing activity, with intelligence that it's becoming "very difficult" to deal drugs in Kettering.

Elsewhere in the county cannabis factories have been found in Ringstead, Rushden, Wellingborough and Great Oakley in recent months.
