Refuse collector killed in Northamptonshire bin lorry accident named by police

Kane Beard, aged 22, from Daventry, died following the accident in the town’s Ashby Road, at its junction with Langdon Close, shortly before 9.45am on Friday, April 8.

Mr Beard was part of a four-man crew collecting bins and recycling boxes, when he was in collision with a refuse truck.

Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the scene and investigations into how the collision happened are taking place, along with the Health and Safety Executive.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the accident or who may have any information regarding it.
