'Racist' golf driver sought by police after spitting in man's face in Corby

Police investigating an incident where a man was spat at and subjected to hate speech in Corby are appealing for witnesses and information.

The incident happened in a parking area near shops and the Post Office in Willow Brook Road, at 1.55pm on Sunday, April 4, when a man waiting to park his white Suzuki Cross was blocked in and beeped at by the male driver of a blue Golf GTI.

The Golf driver then shouted racist comments through the open car window and spat on the victim’s face and clothing, before driving away.

When the victim followed to try to get the Golf’s registration number, in either Clarke Road or Latimer Road, the man got out of the Golf and kicked and hit the Suzuki before pushing the victim when he got out of his car.

The suspect is described as a white man aged around 50, just under 6ft and of small, thin build. He had fairly long brown hair that was noticeably greying, and was unshaven. He spoke with a local accent.
