From a peek inside the windows of this luxury detached house in Great Oakley, you’d never know what was hidden inside.

Cut glass on the polished wooden dining table, nets up at the windows and a parquet floor left no clues for officers who raided the property tonight.

But in four bedrooms and across the entire attic space, officers from the force’s Proactive team discovered hundreds of cannabis plants worth a fortune to their law-breaking growers.

An abandoned bottle of vodka on the living room floor was the only indication of wrongdoing when offices smashed in the door at 4.45pm today (Wednesday, June 17).

The Northants Telegraph was granted exclusive access to the beautiful property in Brooke Road this evening, that has kept many of its original features despite its criminal occupants.

Crucially, the detached rented property including the garden is completely private with no overlooking properties which is perhaps why it was chosen by the gang.

PC Colin Gray, who helped lead this evening’s operation, said: “It’s a really sophisticated set up. They have all the correct equipment and ventilation.

“They’ve gone to a great deal of effort to make sure that if you look in the windows, you won’t see anything wrong.

”It’s a lovely house but they’ve obviously been here for three to four months given the age of the plants.”

The criminals had run their own power supply from a nearby electricity pole.

PC Gray added: “We’re having some really great results as a team at the moment and have made some really positive inroads into the drug trade in Northants during the past few weeks.

”This find came as a result of community intelligence. We’d like to encourage anyone who has suspicions about any local property to get in touch with us.”

Officers will be on the scene overnight to dismantle the grow house.

It’s the latest in a series of huge cannabis factory finds in Corby borough during the last couple of years, with criminals normally targeting the town’s industrial estates.
